Focus on: Google MSN & Yahoo for Site Rankings!
by: Bill Naugle
To maximize your website traffic through the search engines you need to focus on the Big3!
What or who are the Big3? They are Google. MSN and Yahoo search. This article will take you through these three search engines and what you can expect from them in terms of achieving results both in a short term, as well as a long term basis.
As a search engine, Google still continues to dominate, with Yahoo and MSN the next two choices for people utilizing the search market. While in general Google is a clear leader as first preference for internet users when trying to find something of interest on the internet, this is not necessarily in all categories. In some categories you will find the website traffic coming from MSN and Yahoo search is considerably more than Google.
So it is important when optimizing your website to target not just Google but all of the Big3 (Google, MSN, and Yahoo).
Some of our websites have achieved top 10 rankings and first place positions for main keywords in MSN whereas Google can take up to 3 times as long by comparison.
Develop Your Curiosity And Increase Profits
April 28, 2010
If anyone was to ask me what my greatest strength was I’d say curiosity. The reason I would say that is because curious people learn a lot. On the internet there is stacks to learn. Curiosity will help you learn what you need to know.
Here’s some of the common things internet business people want to know:
- How can I get more traffic to my site? - How can I get more sales from my site? - What can I do to make my site successful? - How can I convert more browsers into buyers? - What are my competitors doing that I can learn from?
As an internet marketer I’m curious about how to answer these and other questions. You should be too.
Curiosity can give you information you need to make your business more successful. Let’s say you’re curious about getting more traffic to your site. So you start typing in keywords to your favourite search engine such as:
- Increase traffic - More visitors - Increase hits - Web traffic
Writing Your Business Plan is Actually Storytelling
April 27, 2010
Storytelling and writing a business plan actually go hand in hand. The same ingredients used in telling a story are also used in writing a business plan. Let’s use the Executive Summary as an example.
The usual advice give to write this part of a business plan is something along these lines:
? This is the most important part of your plan because it is where potential investors will focus their attention most on.
? Write this executive summary once your plan is at its very final draft stage.
? Highlights and key issues.
? Avoid detail.
? Address the needs and interest of the reader.
? Use bullet points.
? Keep the length of this Executive Summary to no more than three pages.
If this is the most important part of your entire business plan, then it is even more important for you to get it right from the start. But really, how do you this? How much information do you give in this Executive Summary? How much do you leave out? What do you concentrate on? Is it the description of the product itself? But if you concentrate on the product, then how do you keep it to only three pages when there is so much more to say about the history of the company, the people who run it and the financial status of the company? What about the dreams and aspirations of the company? How really can it all be said in just three pages?
Find Out If You WILL Be Successful As a Franchisee?
April 26, 2010
Will I be successful as a franchisee?
One of the soundest pieces of advice to take when considering becoming a franchisee is to ‘Assess Yourself’. Assess whether you can accept direction. Some people cannot. Assess whether you can work within definite systems and structures without feeling trapped. Assess if you are committed to the franchise concept and if you believe in it. If you feel that you can work within these parameters then go for a franchise. If not, then a franchise may not be for you.
Also realise that owning your own non-franchised business is nearly 3 times more likely to go broke than a franchised business. In today’s cut throat world you should take every edge you can get. And don’t forget, you are going to be your own boss, if you would sack yourself it may be wise not to have your own business at all.
Are franchises fool-proof?
Absolutely not. Franchises rely on you to succeed. Even if you succeed certain things may occur beyond your control that may make your franchise crash. These aspects are potential failures of the franchisor. Regardless, of how well you run your franchise you may be forced to close because of the performance of you franchiser.
How To Choose A Franchise
April 25, 2010
You’d like to go into business for yourself, and believe that the best way for you to become your own boss is to buy a franchise. You know it will takes time and money to be successful, and that’s OK. But which franchise should you buy? Which makes the most sense for you?
Here are some criteria that can help you make your decision:
1. What products or services would you enjoy selling?
What industries do you like, or dislike? Your best bet is to find a franchise in an industry you know at least a little bit about. All too typical is the case of the Chicago car salesman who decided to change careers and go into business for himself. He bought a basement waterproofing franchise but then found the business boring. He wanted to sell it, but sales weren’t as high as he had expected they would be and he had trouble finding a buyer. He was stuck paying off the franchise fee and working at a business he didn’t enjoy.
2. How much money do you have available to invest?

How To Bond With Customers So That They Stay With You Longer
April 24, 2010
How many of your customers are loyal customers? More importantly do you know why they are loyal customers?
Customer loyalty has been a buzz term in marketing for some time and with good reason. Estimates suggest it can cost 5 times as much to get a new customer as it does to keep an existing one.
Think about your business as having a bucket of customers. The customers you lose leak out a hole in the bottom of the bucket. Understanding how big the hole is for your business is the crucial first step to improving your customer loyalty. The second step is understanding why some customers stay and why others leave. Here’s a simple way to measure the size of the hole in your bucket.
Take the number of customers who bought from you last year. Then take the number that bought from you this year. The difference between the two figures is your net gain/loss of customers. So if last year the number was 5,000 and this year it’s 4,600 your net loss is 400 customers. If you know the value of a customer each year then you can work out what the lost revenue is. Coming back to the customer bucket the hole is big enough to leak 400 customers a year. So why are they leaving?
Sell More Products and Services with Testimonials
April 23, 2010
Testimonials are all-important to sell anything. You may already have testimonials for your new book and service, but do you have testimonials for other promotional pieces?
Next time you check out a Web site, notice the testimonials. Testimonials imply approval and recommendation. It’s great to have them for your product, even your service; yet, most professionals don’t use testimonials for the most important marketing tools–the ezine, the article, and the teleclass.
The Ezine
Does “Subscribe to my ezine” motivate you? To draw your target market’s attention, you need to title your ezine and add a short benefit-driven description. Just like a guru recommending a book, you’ll reap far more subscriptions when you add a testimonial.
Ezine subscriptions doubled in just one month for “The Book Coach Says” when the Web site added a ezine testimonial from Dan Poynter, self-publishing guru, “Book writing and marketing nuts and bolts–definitely worth your time.” This short line ran just above the place to collect ezine addresses for the ezine.
The Article
Those of you who send articles to opt-in ezines and other Web sites are probably increasing your ezine subscriptions as well as selling more products and service.
